Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) SPMICI-07-I-0001 This Request for Information (RFI) is the initiation of market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government does not intend to pay for any information furnished pursuant to this RFI. The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia(DSCP) seeks your expression of interest and any suggestions regarding DSCP?s desire to establish supply support of: Coats, All Weather, Men?s and Women?s, various shades and sizes; and cloth, Poplin, Polyester and Cotton, Water Repellant for support to DLA Military customers located worldwide. End Item Information: Coats, Men?s and Women?s, All-Weather, With Removable Liner. The garment would be double-breasted, made with a water-repellant cloth, with a removable liner. Cloth Information: The cloth to be used would be ?Cloth, Poplin, Polyester and Cotton (Water Repellant). The cloth shall be a blend of 65 percent polyester and 35 percent carded and combed cotton. It shall meet the requirements specified under Commercial Item Description (CID) A-A-50531 dated 14 June 1990. Reference additional attachments accompanying this RFI. Army - Cloth, Poplin: Poly/Cotton (Water Repellant) Army Black Shade #385 Roll #3368. Marine-Cloth, Poplin: Poly/Cotton (Water Repellant) Pewter Shade #2246 Roll #1208-06. Air Force - Cloth, Poplin: Polyester and Cotton (Water Repellant) Shade #3376 Roll # 02318. You are also encouraged to submit commercially available alternative fabrics. Vendors may submit fabric and/or end item samples to the Contracting Officer to be used in a visual comparison examination that compares the vendors? samples to the military service standard for shade and fabric quality. Any samples received, for which vendors indicate proprietary or confidential materials, will be received and held in confidence for U.S. Government use only. Vendors will not be paid for any samples submitted. No samples will be returned to the vendor; however, vendors may retrieve samples at their own expense. DSCP reserves the right to dispose of unretrieved samples as necessary. Any results from the visual comparison examination will be for informational purposes only, and will not result in a contract or any other form of legally-binding agreement. DSCP will offer to any vendor who is interested, the opportunity to make an oral/audio/visual presentation of their information. For an appointment, contact the Contracting Officer below. Responses to this RFI that indicate that the information therein is proprietary or represents confidential business information will be received and held in confidence for U.S. Government use only. However, DSCP?s intent is to analyze the aggregate of the information provided from industry as a whole, and develop future acquisition strategies. All samples submitted must be accompanied by paperwork citing this RFI number, date, and sample retrieval date. In addition, the participant shall indicate whether they are providing samples that conform to current military specifications or represent a commercial alternative. ***COATS MADE WITH ALTERNATE FABRICS WILL ALSO BE EVALUATED.
