Project Title: Rehab Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Boulder City, Nevada. Solicitation Number: N8000070906. The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed-price construction contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project. Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price. This project will provide improvements to the water distribution systems and wastewater collection systems at eight separate developed areas at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Major components of the water system work include replacing existing deteriorated mains, replacing main-line valves and adding additional valves; upgrading the size of existing mains, adding new mains to create loops, adding fire hydrants; adding metering, adding and upgrading backflow prevention devices, adding water storage tanks, replacing a campground surface flood irrigation system with a subsurface irrigation system, and other miscellaneous upgrades to improve system reliability and efficiency. Major components of the sewer system work include replacing force mains; replacing or rehabilitating manholes, frames and covers; replacing or slip-lining existing gravity sewer lines; providing odor control for vented sewer gases at selected locations; realigning selected sections of existing gravity sewer lines; increasing the capacity of selected gravity lines; and providing other miscellaneous upgrades to improve system reliability and efficiency. Work will be allowed at two developed areas at a time. Estimated price range more than $10,000,000. Time for project completion is 548 calendar days. Proposal receipt date is approximate; actual date will be established at the time proposal documents are available. In addition, this procurement is offered on a full and open basis and the National Park Service encourages the participation all firms. Responses will be due approximately 30 days following issuance of solicitation. Individual requests for solicitation packages will NOT be accepted.
