Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole-source contract to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) for continued Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) of the F414-GE-400 Afterburning Turbofan Engine. The logistics support under this contract will include supply chain management, material management, field support for the peculiar components of the F414-GE-400 Afterburning Turbofan Engine, sustaining engineering, and ILS to include maintenance planning and technical data, modification and retrofit planning, training, technical directive services and recurring ground support for carrier and shore-based squadrons in accordance with the F/A-18 E/F site activation requirements. This effort will also include the F414 Component Improvement Program (CIP). The F414 Component Improvement Program efforts will include engineering support and testing to resolve readiness problems, Improve reliability, maintain performance, and forecast hardware wear-out rates, life limits, and problems before they occur in the fleet. This effort will also procure Depot Material Support and Support Equipment for the F414-GE-400 Afterburning Turbofan Engine. This award is based on 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), whereby the supplies and services required are available from only one responsible source, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Unless otherwise stated herein, no additional written information is available, and no formal requests for proposal (RFP) or other solicitation regarding this announcement is currently available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. GENERAL INFORMATION: GEAE is the sole designer, developer and integrator of the F414-GE-400 Afterburning Turbofan Engine and is uniquely qualified to provide the complete range of program support required by the Navy. GEAE is the only known firm that possesses the technical data necessary to fulfill the Government?s requirement.
