- The Government intends to award a sole source acquisition to Motorola, Inc. for 18 Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and supporting equipment in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Although LMR?s are a common piece of equipment, the Motorola Corporation is the only manufacturer that can provide the correct specification LMR?s for use on the flight line. Motorola is also the only manufacturer that is supported for repairs by the base LMR contractor. The Motorola LMR?s will reduce the risk of safety mishaps and unsafe conditions on the flight line by ensuring all radios are compatible. Market Research has identified Motorola Inc. as the only provider for the 18 Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and supporting equipment The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423690 and the Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 5065.
