Description
SEND ALL INFORMATION INCLUDING QUOTES AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS IN WRITING TO JUDITH DRABKIN AT Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov, FAX: 256-544-4401. NASA/MSFC has a requirement for a Robot System for Application of Spray-On Foam Insulation. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Fanuc Robotics America, Inc. on a sole source basis. Fanuc robots are currently being utilized at MSFC and MAF for the application of Spray-On Foam Insulation materials and other processes. Personnel involved in this effort are experienced with the programming and use of Fanuc robots. Baseline processes developed with existing Fanuc robots at MSFC facilities will be utilized to assist with the development of replacement materials and processes. The utilization of similar robor systems will reduce the variation of these comparisons, reducing the amount of effort needed to ensure comparable results. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Judith Drabkin at Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov or fax 256-544-4401 no later than 4:30 p.m.CST local time on May 25, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
