- THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE IS ISSUED FOR INFORMATIONAL AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. TACOM-Rock Island Biological, Chemical Defense Contracting is conducting market research to determine the availability and technical capability of qualified businesses that can provide the following Brand Name or Equal Product: Brand Name or Equal GID-3 chemical agent detector - For use in vehicles (vehicle mounted) and by dismounted troops, - Powered by both battery and mains power supply, - Detects Blood, Blister, Choking, Nerve agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals, - Indicates the presence of chemical warfare agents and the level of threat, Specifications of the GID-3: Size : 165 x 178 x 273mm, Weight: Detector only - 4.8Kgs, Battery - 6.4Kgs, Power: Lithium SO2 battery, rechargeable battery and mains power supply, Agents detected: GA, GB, GD, VX, HD and L. Others can be programmed Toxic Industrial Chemicals detection optional, Response Time: Typically 3 seconds, Alarm Time: Audio and/or visible and remote, Vendors having products that meet the specifications as described shall submit hard copies and/or an electronic copy of their product data sheets, related brochures, technical descriptions, warranty information, or other documentation deemed appropriate. Responses should include product name, product description, manufacturer, weight and size, vehicle names with which the system is compatible, length of time the product has been produced or when product is expected to be available, current uses of the syst em, and a point of contact should the Government desire further information. Responses should also include any testing data performed on the item by the U.S. Government or any other foreign country. This sources sought notice is issued solely for informational and market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or the issuance thereof. All information received in response to this sources sought that is marked proprietary will be handle d accordingly. Responses to this sources sought notice will not be returned. Contractors are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this sources sought notice.
