- MARKET RESEARCH/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of small businesses capable of providing the following described services: Supply Chain Management (SCM) services to include receiving materials arriving on station, management of Government storerooms, warehousing, receipt and stowage, care of material in stowage, material issuing, processing of requisitions, packaging and preservation, packing in preparation for shipment, local delivery, and the handling, pick up, control, and delivery of U.S. Mail and Guard Mail between various production repair shops and buildings in support of Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport, Keyport, WA. Services will be performed in approximately 19 buildings, or 169,844 square feet of space. The Government estimates that approximately 70-95 contractor employees will be needed to meet the scope of work required. Examples of the labor categories required are as follows: logistics supervisor, shipping/packing foreman, various general clerk positions, supply technician, material coordinator/expeditor, warehouseman, laborer, and driver (this list is in no way all inclusive and is merely a sample). In the performance of these services, the contractor will be responsible for providing his/her own Material Handling Equipment (MHE). The Government estimates the following equipment will be needed: approximately 22 forklifts of various capability, 8 vehicles (7 trucks and 1 van) and 2 Electric Walkie Stackers. All employees will require a Secret Security Clearance. The contract resulting from this requirement will be for a base period of performance and include four (4), one-year option periods. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement no later than 3:00 pm, 22 May 2007, stating their business size, as well as a point of contact. The Government will use the results of this announcement to determine whether the acquisition of the above-described services should be solicited as a small business set-aside, or whether full and open competitive procedures should be utilized. The Government will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information.
