Description

The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Kone Elevator Company for the replacement of an existing elevator traction hoisting machine and all door hangars and tracks for elevator #17 at the Harold Washington Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 W. Madison St., Chicago, IL 60661. Kone Elevator Company is the current subcontractor providing elevator maintenance service under a Consolidated Facilities Management contract at the HWSSC. All work performed under this requirement must be guaranteed not to void the subcontractor's maintenance contract requirements. Vendors believing they can comply with this requirement should submit a capability statement to the Contracting Officer by email at the following address: reggie.poskocimas@ssa.gov. This notice is issued for the purpose of determining whether a competitive acquisition may be feasible. Determination of whether to issue a competitive acquisition or not is at the sole discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information provided under this synopsis. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (16-MAY-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
