Description: The purpose of this Announcement is to identify potential Business Sources Only. Interested Companies within this socioeconomic category must respond to the Sources Sought Announcement no later than 2:00 pm 29 May 07, by providing firm, quality and quantifiable information. Interested Companies must also demonstrate potential contract approach based on the information provided. It is imperative that the potential offeror explain technical capability and responsibility of being able to fulfill this r equirement by providing relevant current, past performance and experience. Brief Description of Requirement: The basis of this requirement is to perform Strategic Satellite Communication Services in support of The Third Army Division of the US Army Forces Central Command (ARCENT). The Army has a requirement for a five year Cont ract with a base period beginning on or about 01 May 2008 and four 12-month option periods. The communication consists of the Digital Video and Imagery System Hub, designed to offer transport broadcast quality video, 2-way data, stories, still photographs, and other video and data, from various DVIDS portable ground satellite Transmitters throughout the world back to a local commercial satellite hub and distribution center. The hub must also be able to receive and send this content through a robust IP infra structure. The DVIDS Hub is the centerpiece of the Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS) The Hub shall support Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom by providing the capability to transmit, distribute and market visual information (Military Public Affairs, AFRTS and Joint Combat Camera) products to US, International, and Internal Military Media outlets in support of the Central Command Commanders communications objectives. Provision of services capable of ingesting 5 dedicated live feeds, d istribution of 4 live streams, with storage, automation and web-services seamlessly enabled. Includes leveraging broadcast infrastructure of people, satellite truck capability, and 24/7 technical operations center. Includes capabilities for satellite, vi deo fiber, Internet, multi-format tape & disc and file format incoming and outgoing for live or store & forward events on a 24/7/365 basis. Services include commercial satellite usage (uplink and downlink), content storage, editing, formatting, producing, facilities, labor, full digital lifecycle product management, web casting, web development and management, marketing, metrical data and granular reports, and robust Internet Distribution. Crawford Communications, Inc. is the present contractor.
