Description
THIS PROCUREMENT IS RESERVED AS AN (Competitive 8A SET-ASIDE), ONLY ELIGIBLE COMPANIES SHOULD RESPOND TO THIS REQUEST. This activity will build on Successful Investment in Knowledge Management & Communications and Training activities to promote adoption of good practice in microenterprise development activities. Specifically, whereas USAID?s Microenterprise Development office has successfully supported knowledge sharing, learning, communications and training activities through its Accelerated Microenterprise Advancement Project (AMAP) IQC. This support will now be combined into a single contract that will coordinate learning across the entire office portfolio, including AMAP, the Implementation Grant Program and its associated learning networks, the FIELD-Support Leader With Associates, and the Grants Under Contract mechanism, as well as other current and future microenterprise investments. T The intent is to extend current learning activities, expand into new areas of learning and knowledge sharing, and gain economies of scale and synergy by combining all microenterprise learning activities in a single contract covering the full range of microenterprise activities. The Performance-Based Contract to be awarded will aim to increase the application of microenterprise good practice by engaging the global microenterprise community in capturing, disseminating and applying microenterprise knowledge, though web-enabled collaboration, in-person and distance/virtual training, seminars and conferences, learning networks and peer assistance among USAID partners, communications efforts aimed at broad dissemination of innovations, and other activities. As a result of this activity, USAID expects to see improved program design, implementation and results yielding improved performance of financial markets in extending financial services to poor and very poor clients; and programs that increase microenterprise productivity through policy reform that removes barriers to (and lowers costs of) entering the formal sector, and through enterprise initiatives that increase the competitiveness of small and microenterprises in productive value chains. The KMD activity is expected to work in tandem to the maximum extent feasible with other ongoing and planned USAID development activities.
