- The solicitation for this project will be posted on or about June 1, 2007 with bids due on June 22, 2007. This solicitation will be awarded as a three (3) year requirements contract. The Forest Service is in need of conifer cone collection services in order to obtain tree seed used to restore and reforest lands. The purpose of this contract is to provide services for the collection of reforestation and tree improvement seed if a viable cone crop exists. All contract areas are located on the La Grande, Whitman, and Wallowa Valley Ranger Districts of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. Definite work areas have not been defined, but will be within mixed coniferous forested stands. The specific areas will be defined and maps and quantities will be provided when a task order is issued. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified in the task order. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed in a timely manner.
