- Title of this project is West Chewuch Road Relocation for the Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest. The NAICS code is 237310, size standard is $31.0 million. This procurement is Set-aside for HUBZone competition only. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, tools and transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Project work shall consist of the construction of a new road segment, approximately 1185 feet long, as well as the obliteration of an existing road segment, approximately 875 feet long. The existing road segment shall remain open during construction of the new road segment to accommodate thru traffic. Construction activities shall include temporary traffic control, survey centerline from existing control points, construction staking, contractor testing of aggregate, aggregate placement, placement of pavement material, silt fence installation to control soil erosion, developing a water supply, clearing and grubbing, excavation, installation of a 24 inch cmp and seeding. Obliteration activities shall include the removal of existing asphalt material to be hauled and disposed of at Doe Pit, ripping roadbed, removal of existing 24 inch cmp, scattering of clearing material, and seeding. The project is located on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Methow Valley Ranger District, Okanogan County, Washington in Township 37 North, Range 22 East, Section 6 on Forest Service road 5160-000. Directions: From Winthrop, WA travel North on State Hwy 20 for approximately one-quarter mile to the intersection of County Road (CR) 1213. Turn right on CR 1213 and travel approximately 5.5 miles (to a stop sign). From the stop sign (CR 1213 transitions into Forest Service Road 51) continue North for approximately 13.5 miles. Road transitions to FSR 5160, continue North for approximately 2.0 miles to project location. Estimated issue date for the solicitation is on or about June 1, 2007. Proposals will be due on or about July 2, 2007. The construction magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. This acquisition will result in a firm fixed price contract. This project will be advertised as a written request for proposal. An electronic copy of the solicitation will be posted at this site on the issue date. Interested sources are required to download a copy of the solicitation, attachments, and amendments. No paper copies of the solicitation, amendments, or other notices will be mailed.
