- Description
- The NAVSEA Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Carderock Division is seeking sources for supporting the development of composite connectors, conduit and end fittings for use on topside shipboard applications. The primary attributes that are sought for these electrical components and supporting conduit installations are corrosion control and weight reduction. The electrical components will be qualified for MIL-PRF-24758A, and shall be suitable in applications in and around the weather deck, where harsh marine environments degrade standard products. The products developed shall be designed to meet 20 year service life to minimize the life cycle cost of the supported ship weapons system. Composite materials from which the electrical components and conduit installations are to be fabricated must have been qualified by NAVSEA for fire, smoke and toxicity (ASTM E-1354, E-162 & E-662), corrosion (MIL-STD-810), shock and impact (MIL-STD-901D).
