- NAICS Code: 921190 Title: "Product Stewardship Approach to Implement Alternative Technologies to Replace Radioactive Sources in Industrial Devices and Applications" Posting Date: May 17, 2007 Procurement Office: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Administrative Contract Service Center (3803R), 1200 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, DC 20460 Response Date: June 1, 2007 THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT, NOT A RFQ The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Air and Radiation (OAR), intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the Product Stewardship Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. The purpose of this acquisition is to implement alternative technologies to replace radioactive sources in industrial devices and applications. The contractor will be responsible for developing pledge criteria and initiating and maintaining new contracts for program growth. In addition, the contractor will convene conference calls with expert panel members, plan the 2008 inaugural forum and plan a half day symposium. Lastly, the contractor will be responsible for development of case studies, marketing development plans and educational outreach material. The Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) has extensive knowledge and experience in the facilitation of the implementation of alternative technologies to replace industrial devices that utilize radiological sealed sources and materials. PSI's combined experience includes technical, stakeholder and capacity building and extensive knowledge and experience in the identification of regulatory and market place barriers to the successful adaptation of a technology in the marketplace. PSI has over five years of experience working with industry, end users, regulators research and NGO stakeholders in a multitude of projects oriented at promoting alternative non nuclear technologies into the marketplace.
