Description
SOLICITATION PR-CI-07-10664 HAS BEEN POSTED TO THE FEDBIZOPPS WEBSITE IN LIEU OF THE FEDTEDS WEBSITE IDENTIFIED IN THE SYNOPSIS. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Andrew W. Breidenbach Research Center, 26 W. Martin Luther King Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, requires construction of a Hazardous Waste Storage Renovation and Temporary Prep Room. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, hardware, and documentation necessary to complete the project. The project consists of removing and/or altering certain work as required to accommodate installation of new work including, but not limited to, removal of existing concrete loading dock overhang, removal of existing exterior walls and doors at basement level storage areas, removal of existing interior walls, doors and various accessories, abatement of existing lead floor and integral base at basement level, relocation of existing equipment from third floor to seventh floor, abatement of existing VAT flooring on seventh floor level and removal of certain existing suspended acoustic ceilings. The project also consists of new work at the Basement level including, but not limited to, new exterior 2-hour fire rate wall with new fire rated doors and motor operated overhead door, installation of new owner-supplied floor-mounted fume hood, new free-standing stainless steel sink, sealing of existing concrete floor slab, re-work of loading dock canopy support, new interior walls and doors, painting, new explosion-proof refrigerator, etc. Modification of existing sprinkler lines and heads to match new room and ceiling configuration and remove certain work and relocate certain eye wash/emergency showers and make connections to new fume hoods, floor drains, sinks, lab equipment, etc. Removal of certain ductwork and piping and provide certain new supply and exhaust ductwork, exhaust fan, steam and condensate piping and specialities, removal of certain work and modify existing lighting system and provide certain new lights, etc. Modify existing fire alarm system, provide power to new exhaust fan, provide power to lab equipment. This project also consists of Alternates: (A-1) for a new epoxy-resin floor and integral cove base in new rooms 752, 752A and 753; (A-2) for an 8 ft. floor-mounted fume hood; (A-3) for a metal shelving system. This is an unrestricted acquisition. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Contract award will be made using best value methodology. Two evaluation factors will be used: Past Performance and Price. The evaluation factors will be approximately equal in importance. The anticipated contract performance period is 9 months after receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated price of the work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Agency. All prospective offerors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration system in order to be eligible for contract award. See the website www.ccr.gov for information about registration. The solicitation with specifications, drawings, and site visit information, will be released through the internet on the Federal Technical Data Solution (FedTeDS) website at https://www.fedteds.gov. The anticipated solicitation release date is approximately May 11, 2007. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided.
