- This is a combined/solicitation for Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NOI7099 and the solicitation is being issued as a notice of intent on sole source basis. This solicitation document and its incorporated provisions are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 2005-16). This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) intend to procure from Leica Microsystems for a Dual MP Upgrade Hardware Pulsed Laser to be coupled to an existing Leica TCS SP5 Confocal Microscope already equipped in the lab. The confocal microscope is coupled to several lasers and has an array of external detectors. In order to expand the capabilities of one of the existing microscopes we have proposed to couple a second Mai Tai Ultrafast Pulsed Laser to the microscope. The Contractor shall provide parts, software, and specialized calibration tools to accomplish this upgrade. The Contractor shall provide all the necessary coupling optics, coupling boxes, beam tubes, EOM, EOM controller, software, and personnel. NIAID will provide the additional MAI TAI laser, and a table suitable for the mounting of components. The contractor purchase price must include Six (6) months warranty which includes parts and labor to cover defects in manufacturing and excludes wear and consumable items. The Contractor shall assume the costs of any realignment necessary to incorporate this laser into the existing system, if the laser does not match the existing one exactly. The cost of alignment of other multiphoton system in the lab affected by this installation shall be the responsibility of the laser vendor. The North American Industry Classification System (NIACS) Code for this acquisition is 334516, and the small-business size standard is 500. This is a firm fixed-price contract and the FOB term is ?Destination? and Net 30.
