- This is a sources sought notice issued for market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. The Mine Safety and Health Administration is looking for sources to support MSHA??s requirement for a 24-hour emergency response telephone call center related to mine emergencies, non-emergency mine safety concerns and hazardous conditions through a nationwide toll-free telephone number. The requirement is for the provision and maintenance of a turnkey service of telephone representatives, equipment and technology systems and facilities, equipment and network services, including call processing equipment, and facilities and network services for the purpose of responding to and forwarding incoming calls to the appropriate individuals/locations. The call center must be able to respond to calls in both the English and Spanish languages as well as supporting calls from the hearing impaired (TDD/TTY services) Required Support Services ?X Handle approximately 2,000 calls per year. Of these calls approximately 1,300 will be hazard complaint calls and 700 emergency calls ?X There will be an estimated increase of approximately 250-500 in the first year ?X Handle English and Spanish language and TTY /TDD calls in-house. ?X Route emergency calls to the appropriate MSHA staff using 17 district offices phone trees. ?X For hazard complaint calls, notify the appropriate via email. All interested parties are requested to respond to this notice by 3:00PM EDT,. Responses shall include company information as well as details including information concerning operations of a similar size, scope and complexity and should be sent to the contracting officer at beaty.robert@dol.gov no later than 3:00 PM Monday, June 4, 2007. Also, for planning purposes only, if a vendor has a standard charge either per call basis or on any other basis, it is requested that they provide this information. This will be for informational and planning purposes only and will not be released outside the Government.
