- Zarembo PCT 2007 GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose and intent of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 248 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 20 to 25 years old. This thinning is designed to improve tree vigor and species composition for timber and other resources. The Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, housing, subsistence, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as Government-furnished property. Contract time is 85 days. . PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located on the Wrangell Ranger District on Zarembo Island approximately 28 air miles west from the city of Wrangell. The project area is accessed by the St. John Log Transfer Facility (LTF) to FS road 6590 and 6593 (roads are well identified on the ground) or Roosevelt Harbor using FS road 6590 and 6593 (same road numbers but different access points). St. John LTF or Roosevelt LTF can be accessed from Wrangell by boat or floatplane. Wrangell is accessible via Alaska Airlines and the Alaska Marine Highway System. This project is composed of 7 individual ?cutting units?. . SOLICITATION INFORMATION: The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about June 5, 2007 for viewing and printing. Potential quoters are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228-6254. Fax requests must reference solicitation number RFQ-AG-0116-S-07-0027. Telephone requests will not be honored. Quotes will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project.
