Description
Removal of existing Fire/Smoke Detection System... Installation of a new Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), and associated components (smoke detectors, pull stations, addressable modules, horns, strobes, annunciators, magnetic door holders, etc.) permanently mounted, and interconnected as specified and defined in the FAA contract documents. The existing system will be utilized during the installation of the new system. Work will proceed as follows unless approved otherwise: A New FACP will be installed at the facility at a location approved by the FAA. Following tower closure at 2100 hours or at a predetermined time (to be determined by FAA management), one floor of the facility fire alarm system will be isolated and shut down. New system circuits and components will be installed in conduit runs (as specified in the contract documents) and interconnected to the new FACP as specified and defined within the project specification and drawings. Once the new circuits and system components have been tested and approved, the old wire, wire ways, devices and connections to the Existing FACP will be demolished. Work will be accomplished, each night, on a floor-by floor basis. Therefore, following the work each working day, floor (or floors) one (thru whatever) of the facility will be governed by the Existing system and all other floors will be governed by the new system and monitoring agreement. At the conclusion of each working day, one additional floor will be governed by the new system and one less floor governed by the Existing system, until work is complete. Installation of notification appliances (horn, strobes, etc.), Installation of initiating devices (heat detectors, smoke detectors pull stations, etc.). Installation of mounting and other hardware (conduit, connectors, boxes, etc.). Installation of illuminated LED exit signs Installation of fan and HVAC shut down relays. Installation of new emergency lights, as appropriate and rewiring of existing lights. Repair and/or replacement of fire and/or smoke barriers (to include new construction). Coordinate installation of TELCO circuits for the DACT. TELCO circuits will be installed by ACE-474. Termination of the TELCO circuits at the DACT will be done by the contractor. Sealing of penetrations to ensure smoke-proof barriers are maintained. Providing for central station monitoring service and maintenance of the new fire alarm system for a period of not less than two years. Remove and dispose of existing fire detection system. TELCO - Connect/Terminate TELCO circuits for the DACT.
