Description
This is a market survey only. The US Army JM&L - Life Cycle Management Command, Picatinny NJ anticipates soliciting a sole source award (under FAR 6.302-1) to Science and Technology Associates Inc. (STA), 4100 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 910, Arlington, VA 22203, to provide expert technical assistance to the Mid-Range Munition (MRM) program, a smart 120mm cannon launched projectile. This requirement is to fill the needs for generation of test plans and reports, data reduction and evaluation, mission effectiveness analyses, budget/financial analyses, error budget generation, operational concepts generation, participation in Integrated Program Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews, preparation of milestone schedules, preparation of briefing charts, action item tracking. Also required will be development of mission specific microprocessors, field programmable gate arrays (FPGA),application specific integrated circuits (ASIC), graphics processing units (GPU), advanced novel architectures, and cognitive processing systems for resource challenged, high performance and embedded processing applications. The performance of this contract requires in-depth knowledge of autonomous and laser guided projectile technology, including radio-frequency, infrared and electro-optical seekers, gun and rocket boost propulsion, chemical and kinetic energy warheads, pre-launch data link, guidance, navigation and control, airframe and control surfaces, fuzes, batteries, aerodynamic simulation,interior and exterior ballistics, spark range and wind tunnel testing, captive flight testing, component/subsystem/system testing, and test instrumentation (including laser trackers, infrared cameras, kineto tracking mounts, on-board telemetry). Knowledge of this nature is necessary because the duplication costs for research and knowledge would be costly to the Government. This proposed requirement is to increase the ceilings of the current FY07, FY08 and FY09 Options. US Security Clearance at SECRET Level is required. Firms should indicate in their response the level of clearance possessed.
