Description
Provide a vertical welded steel pressure filter, one hundred forty-four (144) inches inside diameter by seventy-two (72) inches vertical side sheet with flanged steel heads equal to the diameter of the shell. The filter shall be designed for operation under conditions of working water pressures of fifty(50) pounds per square inch, tested and made water-tight under hydrostatic pressure of one hundred (100) pounds per square inch. The filter shall be equipped with a manhole and cover to allow for inspection, repair, and replacement of internal components and materials. The filter shall be equipped with an under-drain of perforated laterals, designed to give efficient backwash water distribution and filter water collection. A rate indicator shall be provided to read rate of operation and rate of backwash through filter. The rate indicator shall be capable of indicating flow in either direction. Contractor shall furnish all parts necessary for a complete and efficient filter unit. Vendor shall also provide five (5) six (6) inch cast iron butterfly valves (Lug type). All materials used in the manufacture of the equipment shall conform to applicable Federal Specifications and/or the latest applicable specifications of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Vendor shall provide Plans and Specifications approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for installation of the pressure sand filter. Delivery of the filter and related components shall be to Falcon Dam, Falcon Heights, Texas 78545. The anticipated issue and closing date of solicitation is June 29, 2007 and July 31, 2007, respectively. All requests for solicitation must be in writing; no telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. Requests for Proposal (RFP) IBM07R0002 must include business name, point of contact, address, telephone number (include area code), and RFP number. Offers are solicited from small business concerns. Offers received from businesses that are not small business concerns will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333319, Other Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing. The associated small business size standard is 500 or less employees. See Note 1.
