Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Analytical Chemistry Division, Inorganic Chemical Metrology Group, has a requirement for a Microwave Oven Digestion System that can perform alkaline extractions and acid digestions of Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). This system must be capable of performing alkaline extractions (nominal pH 12) using magnetic stirring and temperature control (nominal 95 degrees Celsius). In addition this system must be capable of acid digestions at high temperatures (minimum 240 degrees Celsius) and pressures (minimum 40 bar). Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION and must be delivered to NIST within 45 calendar days after receipt of purchase order. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. However, this requirement is unrestricted and all interested Contractors may submit a quotation. The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov under RFQ number SB1341-07-RQ-0228. The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about May 24, 2007, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
