Description
US Forest Service, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is seeking contractors for constructing a two-way (20-foot wide travel way) native surface access road and parking area including culvert, and curb stops; installing a road closure gate; relocating two 1,000 gallon fuel storage tanks from the Markleeville Administrative site and placing them on constructed concrete slabs with bollards; installing traffic control signs and entrance signs; installing barrier rocks; installing waterline including valves, drains and associated appurtenances; installing sewer line, dosing tank, septic tank, and drainfield; and installing an electrical distribution system to serve the site. This phase of the project may also include the following optional work that may or may not be awarded (Options May Be Awarded in Any Order): Option #1: 6-inch Aggregate for Base Bid; Option #2: 3-inch Asphalt Road Surface for Base Bid; Option #3: Gravel Exit Road; Option #4: Flammable Storage Building; Option #5: Pavilion w/ Path; Option #6: 6-inch Aggregate Road Surface for Fire Station Road; Option #7: 3-inch Asphalt Road Surface for Fire Station Road; Quantities associated with these options are identified in the Schedule of Items under each indi-vidual option. Option #1: 6-inch Aggregate Surface for Base Bid: This option includes placing and compacting a 6-inch lift of crushed aggregate base on the con-structed main road, barracks road and barracks parking lot subgrades.; Option #2: 3-inch Asphalt Road Surface for Base Bid: This option includes placing and compacting a 3-inch lift of asphalt on the constructed main road, barracks road and barracks parking lot with aggregate shoulders. Work also includes pavement marking and accessible symbol.; Option #3: Gravel Exit Road: This option includes construction of a single lane aggregate surface exit road with closure gate.; Option #4: Flammable Storage Building: This option includes constructing a concrete slab and installing a pre-fabricated flammable stor-age building; and installing electrical service to the building.; Option #5: Pavilion w/ Path: This option includes construction of a 16?x24? shelter with concrete slab, picnic tables and ped-estal grill and constructing a 4-foot wide aggregate surface path.; Option #6: 6-inch Aggregate Road Surface for Fire Station Road: This option includes placing and compacting a 6-inch lift of crushed aggregate base on the con-structed fire station road and parking lot subgrades and furnishing and installing concrete curb stops.; Option #7: 3-inch Asphalt Road Surface for Fire Station Road: This option includes placing and compacting a 3-inch lift of asphalt on the constructed fire sta-tion road and parking lot. Work also includes pavement marking. C2 PROJECT LOCATION: The project is near the Turtle Rock Campground located approximately three miles North of Markleeville, California on Highway 89 in Alpine County. The Project Magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. Solicitation will be posted at this website url. Pre-Proposal/Site Visit for interested vendors will be held on site in Markleeville, CA on May 24, 2007 @ 11:00 AM Local Time. Please RSVP the Contracting Officer if interested in the site walk. Proposals will be due on 06/01/2007 by 1700 hrs. Local Time. No FAX or Electronic. An Offer Guarantee,(Bid Bond), will be required in order for a proposal to be accepted and must accompany the offer. It must be drawn at 20% of offer amount, including any options. There is to be an amendment posted here, please register, and check back daily.
