Description
Sources Sought Notice - Project #561A4-07-210; Replace Fire Alarm System Description: The VA New Jersey Healthcare System is seeking qualified Architect/Engineering Services to develop plans and specifications for a replacement fire alarm system to encompass the entire Lyons Campus and include all patient care and support buildings. A/E will review existing fire alarm system within all buildings and present a plan for the phased installation of a new system. Those buildings which A/E determines are already code compliant will be interfaced with the other buildings which will be upgraded via the newly designed system. Design to include equipment specifications, electrical, plumbing, value engineering, estimating, etc. We are looking for an A/E firm with previous experience inn designing fire alarm systems. Design shall be compliant with all applicable building codes, VA standards, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, JCAHO, etc. The architect-engineer will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions to determine existing as-built conditions affecting this project. A/E Shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project. A/E shall coordinate vists with the Project Engineer. A/E must be proficient in use of AutoCad 2007, VA Form 10-6238. The NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code for this project is 541310. Business size standard is $4.5 million. The estimated construction cost for this project is $2.1 million. The VA is looking for qualified service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, or small business for this project. Area of consideration is restricted to 125 mile radius of Lyons VA. Selection criteria will be based on : (1) Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including experience in designing fire alarm systems, (2) capacity to accomplish the work in the required timeframe, (3) location in the geographical area of this project, (4) specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to this project, (5) past performance on contracts with government facilities (6) maintaining project schedules and project budgets and (7) cost control effectiveness.
