Description
With this announcement, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers  Chicago District issues Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. W912P6-07-Q-0023 for Trucking Services to Haul and Dump Dredge Material at Calumet Harbor Disposal Facility, Chicago, Illinois. The Con tractor shall provide two tri-axle dump trucks with two licensed drivers/operators for two full days at 10 hours per day (per driver) on an hourly basis from the period of 13 June 2007 through 14 June 2007. Should additional time be required, the governme nt may exercise the extended period of services, as described at Item Number 0002 of the Contracts Bid Schedule. Trucks will be used for transporting and unloading Calumet River dredge material within the Corps of Engineers Confined Disposal Facility at the mouth of the Calumet Harbor, Chicago, IL. Purpose: This procurement will enable the Corps of Engineers to properly confine of dredge material after removing an obstruction to navigation on the Calumet River looking to restore project depth to the navigation channel at a critical bend in the River . At the Corps of Engineers Confined Disposal Facility Dock government crane operators will load the dump trucks, transferring the dredge material by crane bucket. Trucks and operators shall be at the Confined Disposal Facility each day at 0800 a.m. and will be ready to load and haul dredge material stored on a government barge. Transport of the dredged material will be over government gravel roads within the facili ty. The dump location is approximately ? mile from the loading site. Government employees will direct the operators to the Confined Disposal Facility and will be available to act at spotters while the trucks are backing on the dumping ramp. In addition, each day when unloading is completed government employees will wash off dredge material from the truck bed and rear of the dump trucks with fire hoses. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 484110, with a Small Business Standard of $23.5 Million. Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to Small Businesses.
