- NASA/ARC has a requirement for a Service Maintenance Agreement of one LEO 912AB and one LEO 1450 Variable Pressure Scanning Electron Microscope. NASA/ARC intends to purchase this service from the following company: Carl Zeiss SMT Inc., One Corporation Way, Peabody, MA 01960-7925. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 Carl Zeiss has a uniquely qualified personnel who maintain and service both the LEO 911AB and the LEO 1450VP scanning electron microscopes. This service includes installation, maintenance, and servicing these instruments. The service must include the following: 1. Specially trained personnel who are qualified technicians with proper high-precision scientific instruments. 2. Emergency repair service as required during the hours of 8:00am ? 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. 3. Labor, travel and replacement parts, as required, excluding consumable items. 4. One planned maintenance per contract period. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. All responses shall be submitted to Jason L. Please reference NNA07202005Q-AMJ in any response. Such capabilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
