Description
PLEASE VISIT U.S. ARMY YUMA PROVING GROUND CONTRACTING OFFICE WEBSITE AT HTTP://WWW.YUMA.ARMY.MIL/SITE_CONTRACTING_RFQS.ASP FOR AN ALTERNATE/MORE LEGIBLE FORMAT OF THIS AMENDMENT ***CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS IS EXTENDED TO 19 JUNE 2007 11:00 AM MST*** The deadline for submitting technical questions was 25 May 2007 and questions were received about both the Cargo Trailer and the Office Trailers. The questions and answers regarding the Cargo Trailer are below. Due to Government technical personnel bei ng temporarily unavailable, the amendment with the questions and answers regarding the Office Trailers will be issued the week of 04 June 2007. As a result of the delay, the closing date for receipt of proposals is extended to 19 June 2007, 11:00 AM MST . Questions and Answers about Cargo Trailer: Q1: We will be preparing an offer for your solicitation. Could you please ask your customer for the following clarifications: Are they sure they want (2) A/C units in the 14' trailer and only one in the larger units? A1. Cargo trailer will need two A/C units. Should one fail, test personnel can still continue mission. Q2: The specifications for the trailers have 24 inch spacing on the floor joists. 24 inch means a 4x8 sheet of plywood is only supported in the middle making for a soft floor. Shall we stay at 24 inch or increase to 16 inch or 12 inch. If the team plac es much cargo or even large personnel in the trailers, the flooring will flex. A2: For the Cargo trailer, 24 inch or closer spacing on floor joists is acceptable. Q3: The specifications also call for 24 inch spacing on the sidewall posts which does not make for a very strong overall trailer. With 24 inch sidewall spacing, the 3/8 inch plywood liner will also be soft. Industry standard is 16 inch which is resident ial spacing. A3: For the Cargo trailer, 24 inch or closer spacing on sidewall posts is acceptable. Q4: The specifications also call for insulation comprised of bubble wrap. A4: For the Cargo trailer, the type insulation material may be different as long as it is present in the roof and sidewalls. Q5: We also had a question on the specifications on the Cargo trailer. Would there be any resistance to using an ISO shipping container based system? A5: For the Cargo trailer, an ISO shipping container based system is NOT an acceptable substitute.
