- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify potential small business concerns for determining whether to set aside the acquisition for HUBZone concerns, 8(a) concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB) or for small business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 811310 (Materials Handling Equipment Repair and Maintenance Services) with a size standard of $6.5 million. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary management, supervision, human resources, materials, equipment and supplies necessary to perform preventive maintenance for approximately 114 pieces of Materials Handling equipment located at the SSA Main Complex as well as various warehouses and docks at outlying locations. The equipment consists of electric (lead-acid battery with various cell sizes and voltages) and gasoline powered (internal combustion type engines) equipment. The maintenance services shall be performed on a quarterly basis. All work will be performed on site at the Social Security Administration Headquarters building as well as several leased buildings. All work shall be performed and completed between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm. Overtime premium will not be authorized. The contractor shall prepare and submit on a quarterly basis required written reports. SSA anticipates awarding a long-term (base year and subsequent option years), firm fixed price, commercial services contract. Contract award is anticipated by October 2007. Multiple awards are not applicable. Small business concerns responding to this sources sought must: 1. Indicate your company's applicable small business status category(ies) based on the size standard above. 2. Provide a capability statement inclusive of experience in the form of an outline of previous projects for specific relevant work completed or currently being performed of equivalent magnitude including contract numbers, description of work, points of contact, and phone numbers; and any pertinent information that would enable the government to assess your company's capabilities. The government reserves the right to set this acquisition aside for HUBZone concerns, 8(a) concerns, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB) or for Small Business based on the responses it receives. It is imperative that firms respond with the required information for capabilities to be accurately evaluated. Capability statement responses should be limited to five (5) pages.
