Description
An Industry Forum will be held for the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Human Performance Wing project on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, in the Conference Theater at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The first 100 people who register will attend the morning session of the industry forum. Additional registrants will attend the afternoon session on the same day. Registered participants will be notified by email with details about the session they are to attend. ONLINE REGIS TRATION IS REQUIRED. The website at http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/lrlevents/default.asp?mycategory=102 contains detailed information about the forum and registration. The proposed contract will be for the design and construction of the Human Performance Wing complex of approximately 700,000 SF. The complex consists of two facilities. The building north of 5th street is approximately 230,000 SF, 3 stories containing hi gh bay area, industrial space, dry laboratory space, space for centrifuge and hyperbaric chambers and a detached insectory building. The building south of 5th Street is 470,000 SF, 4 stories containing space for the Aerospace School of Medicine, medical clinic space, administration space and dry and wet laboratories. The project also includes an addition to an existing vivarium and a remote training site. Primary facility(s) includes administration space, SCIF, classrooms, laboratories, radioactive stora ge, liquid oxygen & nitrogen storage, high bay areas, medical clinic space, space for centrifuge and hyperbaric chambers, auditorium and conference areas. Laboratory space includes medical research lab space, acoustical, visual, vestibular, cognitive, psyc hopharmacological and thermal-stress lab space, and high tech research lab space. Supporting facilities include all site utilities, fire protection systems (including sprinklers, detection devices, and alarms), information systems, access roads and parki ng, paving, walks, curbs, and gutters, storm drainage, and site improvements. Project shall provide all required anti-terrorism/force protection measures. Access for individuals with disabilities will be provided. The Acquisition Strategy for this project will be a two-phase best value selection. The Phase 1 Request For Proposal solicitation package is scheduled to be issued September 12, 2007. The Phase 1 RFP will only require contractors to submit past experience, past performance on similar projects and proposed team members. The government will conduct a selection board and identify a maximum of 5 contractors that will proceed to the Phase 2 selection. Phase 2 proposals require technical and pricing information. Award of the Design/Build contract is scheduled in March 2008. Contract duration is approximately 930 days. The estimated cost range is between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000.
