- Description
- The purpose of this modification is correct the CLIN structure listed in the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation and to address potential offerors questions. The CLIN structure is corrected as follows: CLIN 0001: 5? x 5? Near Field Scanner in accordance with 1,2,4,7 (a-f),8,9,10,11,12e,16 of the specifications, CLIN 0002: Probe Roll Stage in accordance with 6,16,17 of the specifications, CLIN 0003: Probe Z-axis Stage in accordance with 7g,16 of the specifications, CLIN 0004: System Software in accordance with 14,21,23 of the specifications, CLIN 0005: Z-Plane Structure Correcting Software in accordance with 13 of the specifications, CLIN 0006: Waveguide Probes, adapters and absorber kit in accordance with 12 a,b,c,d,f,g,h,i of the specifications, CLIN 0007: Installation, documentation and training in accordance with 3,4,5,15,18,19,20,22 of the specifications and CLIN 0008: Packaging and shipment. Delivery for all items will be no later than December 31, 2007. Question 1: In Specification #5 Please provide the model # of the CFE FARO SI Laser Tracker. Answer to Question 1: The model number (in this case letters) of the FARO Laser Tracker is SI. Question 2: In specification #6, Is the probe roll stage required to be motorized or manual? Answer to Question 2: It is required to be motorized Question 3: In specification #7, Is the probe Z-axis required to be motorized or manual? Answer to Question 3: It is required to be motorized Question 4: In Specification #11, Please provide some clarification on the nature of the outdoor environment in which the scanner will be operated. Answer to Question 4: The scanner will not be subjected to rain or snow directly. If the scanner is housed outside for extended periods it will be covered with a tarp for weather protection. Question 5: In Specification #23, (a): How will the Cylindrical and Spherical packages will be used since no mechanical system to support those measurements is specified. If the appropriate positioning systems for Cylindrical and Spherical measurements are not available, providing the software will be of little value and could drive up the price of the solution. Please advise. Answer to Question 5: This is for future capabilities and is required in the proposal. Question 6: In Specification #23, (e): MTI Compensation refers to a patented technique of a competitor. Thus this technique is unavailable to us, are other means of thermal compensation acceptable? Answer to Question 6: Other means of thermal compensation is acceptable as long as it is part of the measurement software package that is being offered and has been demonstrated and verified as an acceptable means for thermal compensation with a comparable scanner system.
