- SOURCES SOUGHT FOR ARCHAEOLOGICAL PREPARATIONS FOR SHORELINE EROSION CONTROL. This is a Sources Sought announcement; a market survey for written information only. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. There is no bid package or solicitation. In order to protect the procurement integrity of any future procurement, if any, that may arise from this announcement, inforation regarding the technical point of contact will not be given and no appointment for presentations will be made. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast (NAVFACSE) is seeking qualified and interested parties with a first priority U.S.Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a), HUBZone and or/Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), second priority Small Business firms, and third priority Unrestricted firms. The work consists of Significant portions of the Charlesfort-Santa Elena National Historic Landmark have been lost to shoreline erosion. A study is now underway by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to prepare plans to combat this destruction of the site. As part of the overall objective, archaeological work is required to identify, mark, and better understand significant remains in the site needing protection or avoidance during future shoreline erosion control activities. Work to be Performed:Archaeological services are required provide additional information crucial to preservation planning during shoreline erosion control. This work will entail: 1) Marking all known significant features in the Landmark to enable enhanced preservation and avoidance during erosion control activities. 2) Additional testing in Fort San Marcos to evaluate the location of the remnant shoreline and assist in positioning stabilization mechanisms. 3). Delineation and marking of interior features in Fort San Marcos for avoidance during control implementation procedures. 4). Delineation and marking of features associated with Fort San Felipe for avoidance during shoreline protection implementation. 5). Delineation and marking of features associated with Charlesfort, with special attention to accurately define the intersection of the fort?s moat with the eroding shoreline. 6). Mapping of the undercut portion of the shoreline. 7). Additional archaeological testing around undercut locations to determine extent of endangered resources. Product The product will include semi-permanent markers in the field of significant features in the site and a detailed report summarizing the findings of the investigations, which can be submitted to consulting partners when seeking permission to proceed with shoreline control efforts. The report will be presented in standard format as outlined by the South Carolina State Historic Preservation Office. Work submitted to the SCSHPO that is determined by the SCSHPO to be unacceptable will be revised by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Government. The work will be at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. The North American Industry Classifaction System (NAICS) Code is 712120. Interested sources are invited to respond to this sources sought announcement by using the form provided under the separate fiel titled, Sources Sought Arahaeological Preparations Info Form. Each firm shall complete page one of the form and then provide up to three projects that best demonstrate the company's experience relative to the types of work covered by this requirement using copies of page two of the form. Project should representative of NAICS 712120 and be similar in size, scope and complexity to this procurement. Contract must have been performed or substantially completed within the last three (3) years. Contracts with federal, state, or local and/or commerical customers will be accepted. Identify whether your firm is an SBA certified (8a); HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business concern; Large Business. You must be an approved SBA firm; HubZone at the time of this sources sought announcement to submit a response and be considered as a valid contractor. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. However, NAVFACSE will use the information provide for technical and acquisition planning. If adequate responses are not received from 8(a), HUBZone or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns, the acquisition maybe solicited on an unrestricted basis.
