- This is a modification to the previous posting (same subject) which includes instructions regarding the attachment. Request For Information 6-7-07 This Request For Information (RFI) is seeking information from industry pertaining to the current state of development of tactical biometric collection devices for a man-portable (approx 10 lbs) configuration and a hand-held (approx 2 lbs) configuration. P M DoD Biometrics is looking for existing systems that meet stated requirements for each configuration as well as an estimated R&D path to meet all requirements. The Biometrics Man-portable Collection System Assessment requir ement document will be sent to you by email upon request to Ron Kacsmar at rkacsmar@mitre.org. To ensure interested parties have sufficient opportunity to fully understand the desires of this RFI and the system capabilities, PM DOD Biometrics will conduct an open session for questions and dialog. The intent is to conduct this session 21 June 07, if you are interested in attending this Open Forum, submit your name, company, phone no., email address and number of attendees to rkacsmar@mitre.org no lat er than 14 Jun 07. The Open Forum will be held in the Washington DC area. To allow for proper planni ng and space for the Open Forum we will send you the exact location of the Open Forum after 14 Jun 07. Interested parties to this RFI will be provi ded an estimated 60 days from date of this published notice to demonstrate their solutions and present a development roadmap. It is not mandatory to attend the Open Forum to demonstrate solutions and present a d evelopment roadmap now or in the future. The tentative North America Industrial Classification Code System (NAICS) code is 334111. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), a response to this RFI is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Response to this RF I is voluntary. The Government will not award a contract on the basis of this RFI, nor pay fo r information provided in response to this RFI. This information will not be returned. Corporate information marked Proprietary, such as non-public pr icing or bid strategy, will be safeguarded, but the Government may use comments or suggestions about thi s RFI in any way that the Government chooses.
