Description
The US Fish and Wildlife Service has the need for aerial photography services on the Wrangel St Alias National Park in Alaska. The overview of this need is as follows: Authorities: Emergency Wetlands Resources Act of 1986, Public Law 99-645 (100 Stat. 3582). Introduction: This is the enabling task order that provides for the interpretation and mapping of wetlands, and the production of digitized National Wetland Inventory (NWI) maps along the McCarthy and Nabesna Roads, and mechanized vehicle trails originating from the Nabesna Road within Wrangell-St. Elias National Park & Preserve, Alaska. The contractor will map wetlands using standard NWI procedures to produce digital wetlands data. 4. Work Elements: 1) Contractor staff along with personnel from the Service and the National Park Service (NPS), will cooperatively conduct field reconnaissance work in the June-August, 2007 time frame. 2) The contractor will subsequently interpret all wetlands within the project area using NPS-provided orthoimagery in ArcMap version 9.x or higher. 3) The contractor will provide the Service all digital wetlands data in a seamless personal geodatabase format, clipped to the Service-provided "check-out box" with metadata, and use the NWI Quality Assurance - Quality Control tools for verifying geodatabase files before final delivery to the Service. 5. Milestones: A. Conduct field reconnaissance for the project area in the June-August 2007 time frame using two contractor analysts. Specific dates for the field reconnaissance review will be determined as project development continues but will be completed during the summer field season of 2007. B. The contractor will begin imagery interpretation of wetlands on the equivalent of 17 full, 1:63,360 quadrangles upon the conclusion of the field reconnaissance trip using digital imagery provided by the NPS. Once the wetlands interpretation is complete, the contractor will provide all digital wetlands data and metadata in a geodatabase format. The metadata will be produced using the ArcGIS metadata file structure in ArcCatalog. Personal geodatabases will be provided in Albers Equal Area Conic projection with horizontal planar units in meters, using the NAD83 horizontal planar datum. All data and metadata will be delivered to the Service on CD or DVD by December 31, 2007 (180 days after the last field day). Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, 1:63,360 Quadrangle List, 17 full quads total. (This includes 12 full, and 7 partial quads [that together equal 5 full quads] to equal 17 full quads).
