NAICS Code: 333415 TECHNICAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Modification No. 1 1) What is manufactures name for the panels? Answer: The Elliot-Williams Co. Model 139FF-RJ uses a threaded rod-and-tube system. 2) What is the manufactures name for the condensing unit and evaporator in the specification? Answer: The manufacturer is Cascade. Some information can be found at http://cascaderefrigeration.net/. Offerors can contact Elliot Williams Co. for specific information. Be advised as stated in the specifications components must maintain a constant temperature of -15 C, +/- 2 degrees. 3) Will the condensing unit (compressor) set on top of the freezer or will the condensing unit set outside of the building? Answer: Outside the building on a concrete pad, provided by the contractor. 4) If the condensing unit sets outside of the building, what are the building walls constructed of (block, metal, brick, etc)? Answer: The building walls are reinforced concrete, approximately 6" thick. 5) In the specifications under doors there is no reference to where the doors shall be located in the freezer? Please identify the location. Answer: The door shall be centered along the east wall of the freezer (toward the spiral staircase). 6) Is there a loading dock for unloading freezer panels? Answer: Not at this time. The loading dock is under construction. 7) Is there a fork lift that could be used for unloading the freezer panels and condensing unit? Answer: Yes, provided the contactor accepts full responsibility for the unit. The government will not be held responsible for any damages. 8) Is there a bid bond required? Answer: No, this is not a construction type order, it is being competed as a supply buy. 9) Is their a government price range for this solicitation? Answer: No 10) What is the time frame for the job? Answer: In the deliverable section of the RFQ it states delivery and installation NLT 12 weeks after award of the Purchase order. 10) Are there any liquidated damages? Answer: The liquidated damages clause is not required for this requirement. 11) During a site-visit an issue was addressed concerning the height of the walk-in Freezer, per the specifications/ drawing. Answer: The height has been revised to an acceptable range of 96" to 102" (8' to 8'6"). 12) During the site visit a question was also addressed concerning the sprinkler head, in the area where the walk-in freezer will be installed. Answer: The EPA will shut off and drain the sprinkler before installation of the walk-in freezer. After the walk-in freezer is installed and the contractor moves the existing sprinkler head, the EPA will refill and recharge the sprinkler. Note: If the existing sprinkler head is damaged during installation, then a new sprinkler head will need to be supplied by the contractor.
