Description

Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to contract with Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems -Marine Systems (NGES-MS) of Sunnyvale, CA for Launcher Initiation Subsystem design, development, and low rate initial production. The effort also provides program, systems engineering, and technical support for the subsystem test and evaluation, post installation integration and test program, as well as deployed subsystem support. The LIS effort will include a SPALT (Strategic Systems Projects Alteration) of the firing unit, launch safing unit (LSU) and igniter assembly including re-procurement of casting powder and launch gas generators for ongoing SSBN underwater launch operations. The effort will also include FY 08 and FY 09 options for LIS production, LSU and Launch Safing Assembly (LSA) production. Contract performance is anticipated to be 01 October 2006 with deliveries through 2011 and options extending until 2012. Award will be made using other that full and open competition to NGES-MS, the only known source with unique knowledge and expertise required for this program. No solicitation package is available.
