Description
Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport is soliciting information for the purposes of identifying potential contractors to provide a mercury retort system. The primary component of this procurement shall be an electic heated thermal batch retort system. The system will be capable of processing materials containg up to 100 pounds of mercury per batch and should be able to remove enough mercury from the materials so that the Toxic Characteristic Learching Procedure concentration is less than Resource Conservation and Recovery Act hazardous waste limit of 0.2 mg/L. The retort system will include equipment used to condense and collect the mercury volatilized from batteris and limit transfer of mercury to the atmosphere. The procured systems will consist of all equipment, controls, safety features, software, manuals and training required to operate the system. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. It is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Price Contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516. The solicitation for this requirement, if posted, will be N00253-07-R-0035. This announcement is for informational purposes only to solicit information from potential sources. Responses should include the following: (1) name and address of firm; (2) a brief description of similar work performed requiring numerous multi-discipline labor categories (include type and quantity of labor categories required); (3) business size, including average annual revenue for past three years and number of employees; (4) ownership, indicating the following applicable business types: large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), woman-owned, HUBZone, veteran; and/or service disabled veteran owned; (5) number of years in business; (6) Cage Code; (7) and a company point of contact, including name, title, phone, fax and e-mail address. This source sought announcement does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed.
