- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Tanks, requests information on the availability of sources of supply of a military off-the-shelf 120MM Multi-Purpose High Explosive (MP-HE) Cartridge. The 120MM MP-HE Cartridge must be capable of being fired from the M256 Cannon used on the M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank. The 120MM MP-HE Cartridge must be capable of defeating bunkers and buildings, double reinforced concrete walls, and light armor and have antipersonnel capability. The Cartridge must meet the requirements of NATO STANAG 4385, Standard for 120MM x 570 Ammunition for Smooth Bore Tank Guns. This is a request for information only to identify possible sources within industry and responses will not be considered offers. There is currently no contractual requirement for these items. This request for information does not commit the Government to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of any submission to this announcement, or to contract for any suppli es. To be considered as a viable source of supply, interested parties must demonstrate technical expertise and facilities to provide a military off-the-shelf, non-developmental Cartridge and must have an existing production line. Information from third party distributors is not requested and will not be considered by the Government. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 332993, Ammunition (Except Small Arms) Manufacturing. All contractors who provide goods/services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). Any forthcoming solicitation will require online certifications and representations (ORCA), http://orca.bpn.gov. Failure to comply with ORCA registration may make the offeror ineligible for award. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting (electronically or by mail), a white paper, technical data for the item, brochures or other literature, past performance information, as well as cost and availability data for the Cartridges to the Contracting Officer at marylee.schuck@usmc.mil, no later than 8 June 2007.
