STATEMENT OF WORK Replacement of Merced NWR's Water Control Structures (25) PR 8165070653 Prepared By: Richard Albers, 5/23/2007 1. GENERAL: The San Luis National Wildlife Refuge Complex is seeking to purchase 25 water control structures for the Merced NWR. The North unit of Merced NWR supports an extensive wetland and agricultural program. To effectively maintain these programs the ability to move water on and off of the wetland unit and agricultural fields is essential. The Refuge needs to replace 25 dilapidated water control structures that are hampering management activities and eroding subsequent canal and road infrastructure. The Merced NWR has a reputation for its high quality wetland and wildlife management program, making these improvements will enable the Refuge to continue managing these programs for the benefit of wildlife. This project will include the purchasing of 25 water control structures, associated couplers, and the specified amount of polyurethane pipe. 2. SCOPE: The project involves the purchasing of 25 water control structures, associated couplers, and the specified amount of polyurethane pipe for the Merced NWR. Polyurethane pipe thickness is 3/8in or greater. 3. PLACE/DELIVERY AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Items will be delivered to the Merced NWR by July 2007. Deliverables are 25 water control structures, 58 couplers, and 25 pipes. 5. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE: The products will be accepted if they are of the correct dimensions specified at time of order, free of defects, of the pre-approved and agreed upon layout and design, and of the pre-approved and agreed upon materials. 6. TECHNICAL INFORMATION/POC: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will provide contractor with description of items as provided in this statement of work and location and date times for delivery of items to the Merced NWR.
