Description
The Strategic Studies Institute (SSI), United States Army War College (USAWC) Academic Engagement Program, seeks collaborative, mutually beneficial, conceptual research partnerships with distinguished academic and other institutions for addressing ke y national security issues through Co-sponsored Colloquias. Partnership with the US Army War College will assist these institutions in becoming or continuing as centers of excellence for the study of national security. Although there are many informal meth ods for encouraging collaboration, this RFQ solicits specific partnership through the conduct of scholarly of colloquias designed to produce conceptual research and publishable unclassified works absent copyright restrictions. The normal end products of th e academic conferences envisioned by the RFQ are scholarly presentations, research papers, monographs or books ppublished by the Strategic Studies Institute (SSI). The research products assess and make recommendations on strategic issues and national secur ity policies important to the Army and are used in the professional development of USAWC faculty and students. Additionally, SSI distributes its publications to key leaders in the Army and Department of Defense, the broader military educational system, Con gress, the media, and other domestic and international think tanks and defense institutes, and major colleges and universities. The period of performance is slated to begin on 10 October, 2007 and the contract(s) would include a base year period of perform ance and option year(s)(up to four) if included in the awardee's proposal. Offerors must be currently registered in the CCR to be eligible for award. Further information on registering with CCR may be obtained at website http://www.ccr.gov. The Government reserves the right to select for award, all, some or none of the quotes received and make multiple awards. Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions (MIs) as defined by the clause at 252.226-7000 of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) are encouraged to submit quotes. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 611710. The size standard is $6.5M. You may obtain a copy of the solicitation by email request to Eric.berns@us.army.mil. Actual quote due dat e will be on the solicitation. No phone call requests will be taken. It is estimated that the solicitation will be released on or about 6 July, 2007.
