- Description
- The US Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Weapon Systems and Technology Directorate, Advanced Energy Armament System Division, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, has a need for development of ultra-compact, high power, pulsed radio frequency (RF) transmitters/sources. Compactness can be measured in specific power (output RF power) of the transmitter/source, and shall be greater than 0.35 W/in3 threshold (0.5 W/in3 objective) based on total transmitter/source package. RF transmitters/sources shall be modular by design, to allow the flexibility of stacking/combining for overall output power levels in the hundreds of kilowatts range. RF transmitters/sources must be capable of delivering a repetitive pulsed RF output, adjustable within the millisecond pulse-width range. Output RF frequency range shall cover at least the VHF and UHF frequency bands, and be configured for transmitting a string of various pulsed frequencies within those bands with minimal (millisecond or less timeframe) tuning time between pulses. RF output shall be matched to 50 Ohms. Interested Offerors shall provide, at no cost to the Government, information on any existing RF transmitter/source that meet the above requirements. If no existing technology exists, interested Offerors are encouraged to submit estimated research and developmental effort, including Rough Order of Magnitude costs and schedules that would result in satisfying the above US Government requirements. In addition, interested Offerors shall provide a summary of the personnel skill levels, equipment, and facilities to include technical knowledge, experience, and areas of expertise relevant to topic areas. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses should be limited to no more than twenty (20) pages. All responsible, interested Offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities / qualification data and any pertinent information via email, or electronically, No LATER THAN 30 July 2007. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. The Point of Contact for this action is Rachael Houle, Contract Specialist, AMSML-AQ-JA,(973)724-2197, rachael.houle@pica.army.mil This is a Research and Development Sources Sought / Market Survey Announcement only and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey.
