- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for the Gleason Stewardship Project, encompassing hazardous fuels management services 13 miles northwest of Ely, Nevada to accomplish the following: To provide services for fuels reduction and forest health. The objectives are to reduce tree densities within the project area to approximately 10 to 15 trees per acre, and to reduce fuel loading to levels that would significantly slow or prevent wildfire from spreading through the existing vegetation. All merchantable material to be removed will be purchased from the Government and paid for by the Contractor through either application of Conservation Credits earned or cash deposit. The Contractor shall develop and submit a Treatment Plan and Schedule to accomplish the project objectives, and organize and direct all of the equipment and personnel needed to fully accomplish the work. The contractor shall furnish all technical expertise, labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to complete the work required. The Treatment Plan and Schedule will be agreed upon by both parties and incorporated into the contract. All changes to the Treatment Plan will be agreed to prior to the changes taking effect. The contractor shall be required to provide a Treatment Plan and Schedule and a Quality Control Plan. The period of performance will begin on or about August 1, 2007 and continue for no more than 3 years. This is a 100% set-aside for small business. The standard NAICS classification is 115310. This solicitation will be issued on or about June 18, 2007. The solicitation may be downloaded from the IDEASEC website: http://ideasec.nbc.gov/j2ee/login.jsp. Please print the Standard form (SF-1449) and print all clauses and attachments. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided. A site visit has been scheduled for July 10, 2007 at 9:00 A.M. Participants will meet at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely Field Office, 702 N. Industrial Way, Ely, NV. Potential offerors are to provide their own transportation at no cost to the Government. The Government assumes no liability on behalf of offerors attending the site visit. Offerors intending to attend the site visit tour shall contact Jeff Fenton at (775) 289-1821or Cody Coombs at (775) 289-1854 at least 24 hours before the scheduled site visit and advise them of the firm's name and number of persons that will attend. Contractors must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be considered eligible for award. Proposals are due no later than July 18, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. Denver local time.
