- In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106(b) (1), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), intends to issue, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Caribbean Environment Health Institute (CEHI) in Castries, St. Lucia, in the amount of $45,500.00 for a co-sponsorship fee for two (2) Regional training workshops on the World Health Organization (WHO) Water Safety Plan methodology. The co-sponsorship fee will pay for administrative cost, i.e. meeting space, logistical preparations, and printing. CEHI is the environmental health arm of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and they hold annual conferences for the twenty plus island nations that comprise CARICOM. CEHI undertakes activities that no other regional organization is equipped or in a position to carry out due to its position in CARICOM. CDC?s participation in these workshops will further CDC?s mission by informing and promoting good environmental health practices in the Caribbean region, as well as fostering good working relationships with U.S. government institution, national ministries of health and ministries of the environment, and international organizations. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to provide this service described above should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to provide the services. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by CDC not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the government
