- SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR One Meter Lens (Optical Interface) and High Speed Data Recorder to FLIR Systems Inc. The Air Force, Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to FLIR Systems Inc., 25 Esquire Road, N. Billerica, MA 01862. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following two (2) commercial items: Line 1: 1 meter InSb lens, 3.0-5.0 Micron Bandpass f/4.0 Bayonet Mount Optical Interface. (Quantity -1 each) Line 2: Refurbished High Speed Data Recorder with Supermicro HSDR Case SC742s-600B. (Quantity ? 1 each) Shipping: 8-weeks after receipt of order (WARO) minimum FOB Destination These items are required for the Indigo Video Processing System that directly supports systems under test in the Benefield Anechoic Chamber, Electronic Warfare Group. DESCRIPTION: The 1 meter lens assembly is intended to complement an existing 25 and 50 mm lower performance lenses for an existing pair of FLIR Systems Inc laboratory cameras. This lens will provide similar, but higher performance, imagery from a test continuity perspective for the Benefield Anechoic Chamber. These lenses are custom designed to mate to both these cameras directly without optical, mechanical or radiometric modification or adjustment to either the cameras or the optics. The refurbished high speed data recorder is a multi-hard drive very high speed data recorder designed to interface to the two laboratory infrared cameras in our possession. This recorder supports not only the cameras we have, but more importantly, also supports the advanced thermographic analysis software, unique to FSI. Therefore, this particular recorder from FSI is the only one that will interface to our existing cameras and software. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the Optical Interface-1 Meter Lens and (refurbished) High Speed Data Recorder. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by 12 noon PST, 18 June 2007, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with FLIR Systems Inc., 25 Esquire Road, N. Billerica, MA 01862
