Description
The United States Government is looking for sources that can provide a moving target that replicates a passenger vehicle/truck approaching an entry or check point. Vehicle speed should be adjustable between 5 and 20 mph. The vehicle must travel along a straight path (approximately 540 feet in length) before entering a serpentine section (approximately 160 feet in length) and navigating around Jersey barriers, making a right-left-right (45 degree turns preferred) on a gravel base that is 35 feet wide. Jersey barriers (K-rails or traffic dividers) which are normally 3 feet high and 20 feet long could possibly be customized to protect vehicle propulsion system but should replicate actual standard barriers to the greatest extent possible. The target mover and any track or cables used to control its movement must be protected from firing. Sketches of the vehicle target path are available upon request from the POC listed below. The Frontal Movement Target must be a realistic 4-sided target which stays upright and replicates pickup truck-type vehicle. The vehicle must be RF controlled and battery powered, react to 3 hits by stopping and setting off Battle Effects Simulator (BES), and have 2 Stationary Infantry Targets (SITs) that fall when hit and stop vehicle. Vehicle targets should be designed for weapons up to .50 calibers. When traveling in the twelve oclock direction, firing on vehicle target could originate from the twelve oclock through nine oclock positions. Interested vendors are asked to provide a s tatement of interest as well as product and capability literature, including pictures where possible, by close of business (COB), 28 June 2007. Responses should be forwarded to Gregg Johnson, Contract Specialist, at Gregory.johnson23@us.army.mil , 309-782- 5851. Responding vendors are also asked to provide their business size when responding to this synopsis. This market survey is not a formal RFP or RFQ and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure or pay for any such supplies or services.
