Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (CCID), National Center for Infectious & Repsiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Influenza Division (ID) Molecular Virology and Vaccine Branch is in need of a protein crystallization system for identification and optimization crystallization conditions for viral proteins from natural and recombinant sources for structure and function studies. The government has determined that the TOPAZ System which consists of chips, reagents, hardware and software and simplifies and automates nanoscale free interface diffusion (FID. To qualify for this requirment a bidder must be able to deliver a ?Brand Name or Equal? protein crystallization system having the following salient characteristics and capabilties: meet delivery schedule of ?10-days after receipt of order?; to screen 96 unique crystallization conditions in parallel, the equipment must consume only 1.4uL (less than 20 nL) of protein; the equipment must offer a combination of liquid-liqid free interface diffusion (FID) combined with degydration as an alternative methodology for discovering protein crystallization conditions; the system architecture must allow investigators to scale from 1 or 4 or 8 samples against 96 conditions. Based on the mandatory capabilities listed above and the government?s requirement for immediate performance, the CDC plans to award a noncompetitive contract action to Fluidigm Corporation; if, however, you believe you possess all of the mandatory capabilites with a ?Brand-Name-or-Equal?and can meet a ?10-days after receipt of order? delivery schedule, you may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist no later than 22 June 2007 which will be considered by the CDC. To obtain an electronic copy of the SOW/CDC Protocol, request by email to bskennedy@cdc.gov.
