Description
The Uniformed Services University (USU) located on the National Naval Medical Campus in Bethesda, MD intends to issue a requirement for the purchase of a real time imaging system, a standard high end computer, a USB printer, and training and installation of the aforementioned items. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to monitor Federal Business Opportunities, http://www.fedbizopps.gov/, for the issuance of any changes/updates to the solicitation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested (RFQ) and a written solicitation will not be issued. This RFQ incorporates all provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 05-17. This solicitation is set aside for small businesses and the applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. The contractor shall provide pricing for the following Contract Line Item Number (CLIN): CLIN Description 0001 Real Time Imaging System: 1 each @ $__________ 0002 Computer: 1 each @ $__________ 0003 USB Printer: 1 each @ $__________ 0004 Installation and Training for Imaging System: 1 job @ $__________ STATEMENT OF WORK FOR THE UNIFORMED SERVICES UNIVERSITY of the HEALTH SCIENCES (USUHS) The Imaging system will be used to generate publication quality images of DNA agarose and PAGE gels using the following stains: Ethidium bromide, Coommassie Blue, Silver Stain, SYBR Green, SYBR Gold, Rhodamine Red, must perform chemiluminescent imaging using industry standard substrates (ECL, West Dura and SuperSignal), quantitation of autoradiographs, quantitative analysis of nucleic acid and proteins, TLC plate quantitation, fluorescent imaging that allows analyzing several proteins in the same gel and automated counting of colonies in microbiological and genetic assays. Minimal Specifications: CLIN 0001: Real Time Imaging System 1) The CCD camera and lens must have minimum a 4 million pixel resolution, cooled CCD camera image acquisition delivering 16 bits of data in a 16-bit file format. 2) Real time readout in image acquisition window. 3) The camera must be cooled to ? 25? C (Absolute and Regulated) for maximum signal-to-noise ratio and dark current reduction offering superior low light sensitivity for chemiluminescence. 4) Quantum Efficiency (QE) of approximately 49% at 425 nm for superior chemiluminescence sensitivity. 5) USB 2.0 connection for camera to PC with real time image focus and fast image acquisition. 6) Security features within imaging/analysis software for user logon with or without passwords and a log for number of prints made by each user. 7) Image acquisition and analysis tools in one software program for automatic image acquisition and import into enhancement and analysis tools. 8) Ability to save overlays for densitometry and spot counting. 9) Image analysis tools for densitometry, spot counting, molecular weight analysis, band pattern matching with dendrograms, and automatic scoring. 10) Auto exposure with different presets for different applications as well as a custom setting for user control. 11) Optional 21 CFR compliant software for qualified electronic image validation, audit trails and electronic signatures. 12) Option to provide Site License Stand Alone Software for unlimited numbers of users. 13) The cabinet must have control for all lighting and filters through both touch panel and through system software for automatic light shutoff after image capture or exit from acquisition window. 14) The cabinet must have UV light cutoff switch to prevent accidental exposure to UV with override able switch 15) The cabinet must have 5 position filter wheel for additional optional emission filters. The cabinet must be upgradeable to a multi wavelength light source 16) The system must include a start-of the art computer and monitor. 17) The cabinet must have a dual UV wavelength transilliminator and be upgradeable to attach epi UV lights in 254 nm, 365nm, 254/365nm or 460nm and must have a standard fold down white light table (not UV conversion screen) for excitation sources.
