Description

The United States Coast Guard MLC Atlantic intends to issue a purchase order with Wartsila Lips Inc., for a stern tube overhaul kit, P/N JCL001169-000E. Award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) ? only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Wartsila Lips Inc. is the only company that has the technical proprietary data necessary to manufacture the required parts. The requirement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition procedures per FAR Part 13 with an estimated value of $50,000.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all information received within 5 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of quotes received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
