- Request for Information- Market Research The Social Security Administration (SSA) is conducting market research to identify contractor sources capable of providing a commercial off-the-shelf software solution for data exchange file transfers. The SSA is attempting to identify products that facilitate communicating with internal and external trading partners on multiple platforms (e.g. Z/OS, Windows, and UNIX) via file transfer methods. This notice does not constitute a solicitation for proposals. The software product must be a data exchange file transfer solution that: - Supports API connections to the software (Assembler,?) - Performs batch submits on Z/OS - Sends multiple file types (binary, PDS, PDSE, VSAM, GDG, and BDAM) - Performs checkpoint restart - Performs compression - Is configurable for number of total concurrent sessions - Offers Triple DES encryption - Supports HFS file transfers - Executes in its own address space - Limits the number of concurrent sessions per trading partner - Has logging capability for problem review - Is able to monitor active transactions - Supports multiple sessions with each trading partner - Generates reports - Has SMS support - Supports TCP/IP and SNA - Has the ability to alias a remote users id to a valid SSA id. No SSA userid and password should have to be provided to the remote user - Can be installed on multiple platforms(Z0S, UNIX, and Windows) - Performs submit within a process - Has a technical support phone number for reporting problems - Has web knowledge base for troubleshooting - Supports file transfer to/from tapes - Is able to be customized - Is scalable - Has built in fault-tolerance - Has software support included - Can interface with CA Top Secret - Is Section 508 compliant - Has maintenance and 24x7 support - Does or will support IPV6 - Is or will be FIPS compliant - Has the capability to check the success or failure of a file transfer and perform different post processing steps depending on the result.(If/Then/else type logic) - Has no limitation on the size of the file being transferred - Has a user interface (GUI, ISPF) - Supports symbolic substitution of variables Again, this notice does not constitute a solicitation for proposals. It is for market research purposes only. Interested parties capable of providing COTS software products that meet all of the above referenced performance specifications are invited to reply to this notice. All replies must include information detailing the software?s capabilities, as well as information on the supplying firm?s prior history of performing services of a similar nature, size, scope, and complexity to those described. Information supplied in reply to this notice will be used solely for market research purposes to assist the SSA in creation of a possible future procurement strategy. Information supplied in reply to this notice will not constitute a proposal or an offer for services. No information submitted in reply to this notice will be returned to the supplier. Information submitted in reply to this notice shall be provided at no cost to the Government.
