Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition, on behalf of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to the American Public Health Association for publication in the American Journal of Public Health. The NIMH intends to provide a special supplement issue which will address the strengthening of the research capacity in the mental health of HIV/AIDS. The American Public Health Association will provide publication, typesetting and editing of an approximately 225 page final copy, 250 run copies, and air freight deliver of 250 copies to NIMH in Bethesda, Maryland. The American Journal of Public Health is a highly prestigious biomedical journal dedicated to the publication of papers reporting scientific topics including HIV/AIDS. This journal is widely accepted for its dissemination of papers of biomedical research and many academic institutions, libraries and education centers are subscribers. The Journal also integrates mentorship and training programs for HIV-associated disease. Period of Performance will be 12 months. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 511120 and the Size Standard is 500 employees. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 13.5 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
