Description

Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to Harris Corporation, RF Communications, 1680 University Avenue, Rochester, New York 14610 issued by the Nevada Army National Guard to conduct an independent assessment of the Government of Turkmenist an Border Communications capability. The survey will also determine the existing means of communication from the Headquarters in Ashgabat to all Border Crossing Points in the country, existing communications between the Boarder Crossing Points, and existi ng communications between mobile border guards back to their post. Further, this survey will categorize what type of information is currently passed (voice/data) at all levels described above and what type of information is required to be transmitted/rece ived. Additionally, this survey will also determine means of communication between the Border Guards and other Government of Turkmenistan ministries. Finally, the survey is to develop recommendation on improvement of communication means within the existi ng C2 infrastructure, and provide a rough order of magnitude for categorized improvements. The final product will closely resemble the assessment the US Government received from the Harris assessment of the Tajikistan Border Communications system.
